The Mid-Autumn Festival represents reunion, and mooncakes are a symbol of the occasion. However, issues including as overbuying, conflicting preferences, and partial consumption have made mooncakes a "significant source of leftovers".
This Mid-Autumn Festival, the Food commons Foundation once again joins hands with Food Grace to become "Green Partners" to jointly promote the concept of reducing waste at source and cherishing food during the festival.

Gift-Giving Tip: Before giving mooncakes, consider the recipient's tastes, purchase accordingly, and share them until they are ready to go. This transforms your thoughtfulness into genuine affection.
Mooncake Recycling Campaign: If you have any extra mooncakes, please contribute them to over 100 public recycling locations in Hong Kong between August 27 and October 1. They can be donated to poor families, transforming garbage into love and spreading holiday cheer.
The ideal Mid-Autumn Festival is not about recycling, but about everyone being able to reduce waste at the source, buy what they want, eat what they want, and fully appreciate and share food.
